Objective: Minimum current use stores inventory is maintained and standardized to the greatest extent practicable to meet regulatory requirements and maintain the support of Ames Laboratory. Measure: Current use stores commodities not meeting turnover ratio of two at year end are reviewed and approved for retention in stores inventory. Expectation: Current use stores commodities that have not achieved a turnover ratio of two are approved for retention in the stores inventory by Heads of using Departments. |

Self Assessment Scope: |

Report on opportunities for improvement identified in the prior years assessment, if any. Address any significant changes in system procedures or practices, including reason(s) for change and expected improvements. Topical Area: The assessment process shall follow the DOE Contractor Personal Property Management BSC Performance Measurement and Management Program, dated December 18, 1997. Methodology: A Self-Assessment Plan will be prepared following the guidelines of Part 4 of the BSC. The Plans Self-Assessment Activities shall describe the review process and or formulas that will be utilized to assess performance against the above system indicator and each core measure identified under the four BSC perspectives, Customer, Internal Business Processes, Learning and Growth and Financial. In addition, the plan will address how the Laboratory will assess regulatory compliance of CFR Title 41, Chapter 109-27. |

Report: |

Mid-Year Status Report due by July 15, 2000. This report should discuss critical items, significant changes, and the status of the self assessment effort to date. BSC Plan Sixty days from receipt of signed Agreement. Year End Final Report due 45 days after calendar year. A Self-Assessment Report will be prepared in accordance with Part 5 of the BSC. The report shall be a credible and comprehensive document that is presented in sufficient detail to determine (1) target performance, (2) system effectiveness and (3) problem analyses and improvement planning. As part of the Self-Assessment Report, the Laboratory shall provide a separate and distinct evaluation of regulatory compliance of CFR Title 41, Chapter 109-27. The report shall follow the guidelines in Part 5 of the BSC, Section A. In addition, the attached format shall be used to report the assessment of each BSC objective and core measure. Identify opportunities for improvement and/or notable practices. |

DOE Operational Awareness: |

DOE interaction on an as need basis to include the following: · Review the year-end self-assessment report and determine the need for an on-site validation. · BSC self-assessment validation, if applicable.
